Unfortunately it does not include a battery tray, however Renogy recommend installing with a battery tray for stability.
Can a 48-volt system be built using this battery in series?

Sure can. Renogy 24V Core Series Batteries can be used to increase voltage for 48V off-grid power systems by connecting them in series. For a maximum power of up to 40.96kWh, you may also think about wiring batteries in series first, and then wiring sets of batteries in parallel.
Can I use this new 24V 100Ah Core LiFePO4 with other brands of 24V batteries?

No, it will need to be the same make, model and age.
What is the maximum number of Renogy 24V 100Ah Core Series Batteries I can connect?
