Using the Evakool 240 Volt to 12 Volt DC Adaptor is a great way to get the fridge to working temperature prior to use. Also saves battery power when able to connect to 240v when on an extended trip.

Is this unit connected all the time or is only plugged in when you want to use 240 volts?

Hi Ray,

The 240V to 12V adaptor is only required when you want to run your portable fridge from mains power.

All you need to do is connect the adaptor to the wall, and plug the fridge in to the cigarette socket.

Yes there should be no reason why this adaptor wouldn't work with the Engel 14L fridge.
Does the item have an internal fan or just a heat sink. I find the ones with the fan too noisey

These units use a heatsink for passive coolling. There is no internal fan.
