Hyundai HY3200SEi, 3200w Inverter Generator, 1 Year Warranty. The HY3200SEi is a compact yet powerful portable inverter generator from Hyundai providing a convenient and cost-effective source of power, producing 3200w/4.0kVA the HY3200SEi is ideal for caravans and motorhomes as it allows you to take the modern luxuries from home with you wherever you go.

The HY3200SEi, with integrated carry handle is easily stored in the back of a van car, or garage. Weighing only 35kg combined with the folding front, molded rear handle and heavy duty rear wheels makes transportation easy across a variety of surfaces . The HY3200SEI houses a new inverter board designed to cope with the extreme inductive loads applied when using powertools and electric motors with high start up currents. The new LCD display makes it easy to monitor the performance of the generator, displaying voltage, frequency and hour count.

Features:

Powered by the Hyundai 210cc 4-stroke OHV engine, the HY3200SEi produces 3200w / 3.2kW and is more than capable of powering televisions, small air compressors for inflatable beds, electric heaters, power tools laptops, lights, etc.
The control panel features two 240v sockets for use with any appliance which uses a standard 3-pin 15A mains plug, as well as a 12v DC battery charging outlet, so it’s ideal for a variety of uses. Producing a pure sinewave output, it can safely power all sensitive electronics without risk of damaging or overloading them.
The HY3200SEi inverter generator is extremely popular for powering family holidays, and it’s built to be user-friendly with low maintenance requirements. Digital overload protection will shut the generator down should the load pass the maximum threshold, and low oil shutdown also turns off the generator should the oil levels drop too far.
Already an economical generator, the HY3200SEi also has the added benefit of an “ECO” mode which, when selected, will lower the engine revs to match the load being applied, which in turn increases the fuel economy, lowers the noise produced and extends the lifespan of the engine.

After extensive research I selected the Hyundai HY3200SEi as a replacement for a failed generator in my motorhome. It had to have remote start and be able to run the air conditioner which it does easily with power to spare. I was impressed with the build quality and the availability of spare parts and repair facility if required in the future. Delivery time was two days - unbelievable! Despite the remote start/stop the ignition still has to be switched on/off at the generator, which is a little disappointing and the only reason I gave a four star rating instead of five. I overcame this by rerouting the internal battery cable to a battery switch inside the motorhome which allows the ignition switch on the generator to be left on, thus avoiding having to exit the motorhome whenever I wanted to start the generator. All up, I’m very happy with the generator, but would like to see the warranty extended to three years (as is the case in the UK) instead of one year. MyGenerator offered the best price at the time.

So I just got my hands on the Hyundai HY3200SEi inverter generator and I gotta say, it's been an absolute lifesaver! Living in an area where blackouts are pretty common, I needed something that was reliable and easy to move around, and this baby has delivered in every way possible. I'm seriously impressed with its performance!

I recently got the Hyundai HY3200SEi inverter, and it's awesome! It's compact and powerful, perfect for my caravan trips. I can easily move it around with the built-in handle. The LCD display is super handy for monitoring. Plus, it comes with remote start keys. I can power my appliances and charge my gadgets safely with its pure sinewave output. The ECO mode rocks, saving fuel and reducing noise!

The unit came packaged well and was easy to prepare and get up and running. The electric start had enough charge on delivery to the first start easy. I needed 2700W continuous and this generator supplied that with no bother.

Took a while to come due to being out of stock. Packaging damaged by courier, looked like forklift tyne damage, however generator inside was OK. Unpacked, did all the checks and the unit started first go. Three days after arrival a severe storm knocked our power out for two days. The generator was faultless and supplied enough power to run fridge, water pump and filtration, lights, internet and microwave. Noise level is very acceptable under low load, however is loader than I expected under heavy load. A full tank gave us well over 6 hours continuous running. Overall a great generator for back up power during outages and had no problems running our Grundfos water pump.

I plan to leave the generator outside my long term camp setup, what's your best inverter generator that can handle all weather conditions, especially heavy rain?

Hi there, sounds like a nice set up! The short answer is that electricity and water don’t mix. Whilst we are aware that some people run their inverter gensets in all weather conditions, it is not recommended as safe or best practice for your equipment, as inverter generators do not come with weatherproof outlets as standard.

Ideally, you would somehow shelter your generator from the rain. But just remember that fully enclosing your generator whilst its running is not an option - generators need fresh air intake for the engine to run and they emit carbon dioxide, so they should never be contained. Overall, some rain protection but also room for fresh air intake and fume emission is what you need.
Will this generator run the pump for my house water system?

Hi, that is a tough question to answer without knowing more details about your pump. Water pumps come in a range of sizes and some smaller pumps can run on a small 2000 watt generator, whereas some house pumps would need around 6000 – 8000 watts or more!...electric pumps are notorious for having quite high starting loads. So, you would need to find out the peak load (in Watts) required to start your pump. If you cannot find the starting load from the product manual or data plate, you could contact the manufacturer of your pump, or engage an electrician to take a reading.

Once you have that all important stating load amount for your pump, you can then choose the right sized generator to run your pump.
What is an "inverter" generator?

Hi Alison, and thanks for your question. An inverter is a lightweight microprocessor that converts power from direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). They are a fairly recent advancement in technology from the older style conventional generators. What it means is that the inverter generators produce very clean power which is required to run sensitive electronic equipment such as laptops, mobile phones, camera equipment etc.

The other benefits of inverter generators are that they are typically much smaller and lighter than standard open frame style generators and tend to operate at very low noise levels (less than 60 decibels). Lastly, they are also very efficient; their engine speed automatically adjusts in accordance with the required load, maximising fuel efficiency.

Overall, they are an extremely popular portable power source for camping, caravanning, DIY tasks, small business uses and home power back up. Inverter generators range from around 1000 watts up to 7000 watts.

Hi there - good question, yes, we do! Firstly, as a safety note, always stop the engine and let the generator cool down before starting any maintenance work. The five main general tips are;

1. Replace engine oil
2. Check spark plug, replace if necessary
3. Check fuel level and ensure it is fresh fuel (fuel left for a long time can go "off")
4. Check air filter, replace if necessary
5. Clean muffler cover and check spark arrestor

For further maintenance help, you should take your generator to a small engine specialist or an accredited generator service technician.
