Works well, running for a month+ in the car. Review by Kieran

I've had the fridge running full time for about a month now in the back of the car while crossing the country, and so far it's performed well. It's kept things frozen in the back half of the drawer even when it's 40+ degrees outside. The compact size works well in the car and the drawer format makes it easy. It's not big but fits what I need. As has been stated in other reviews, the location of the thermostat control is annoying as it blocks some of the use of the drawer.

The Engel Drawer Fridge works well and is quite when operating. The thermostat is well calibrated and can select refrigerator or freezer mode. The drawer makes it easy to get to the contents.

Not big enough to put some 600mm bottles of water upright which the photo's suggest, Fits cans no problems except for where the thermostat is located. Keeps ice frozen if a bag is placed in it. Overall a good space saver.

Can the unit be exclusively used as a Draw freezer only ?

Hi Adam,

This fridge can only cool down as low as -8c, which wouldn't be considered freezer temperatures (freezer temperatures are usually below -16c.).

That said, you can certainly have it set at the coldest temperature permanently.
Can you please tell me How many cans does the Engel 30ltr slide drawer hold??

The only way to run the drawer fridge from mains power would be through the use of a Mains to 12V adaptor.

Standard the fridges can run on 12 and 24V's.
Does the fridge come with an cord that can suit an Engel or cig socket? Or do you have to hardwire?

This is a hard wired fridge.

It does not come with an Engel plug, or cigarette plug.
Has anyone else queried the noise level? Mine sounds like a truck driving up a hill ... am a bit disappointed

Engel do not advertise a db rating for their fridges, however they should certainly not be extremely loud.
