How long does it take to boil?

It takes around 13 minutes to boil. The Anderson connection allows the kettle to draw more power than a standard 12V cigarette-lighter kettle which usually takes about 30-40minutes.
Can I plug this directly into a standard cigarette lighter socket?

No. This kettle comes with an Anderson plug and needs to be plugged into a dedicated, high current Anderson outlet. Connecting it to a 12V cigarette socket would blow your vehicle's fuse.
