RVsecure Shore Power Sensor, 1 Year Warranty. The shore power sensor is a vital monitoring device designed to ensure uninterrupted electrical supply from shore power connections to a boat. It continuously monitors the incoming 240-volt AC power and sends an immediate alarm signal if the power supply is lost or interrupted. This alert allows the boat’s owner or crew to respond quickly to restore power and prevent potential issues.

This sensor is particularly important for boats that rely on shore power to maintain essential onboard systems and accessories. Many vessels use shore power for refrigeration, battery chargers, air conditioning, lighting, and other electrical equipment when docked or moored. A sudden loss of power could cause significant problems—such as spoiled food in refrigerators, drained batteries, or compromised climate control—leading to costly repairs and inconveniences.

Given the complexity and high-voltage nature of shore power systems, installation of the shore power sensor requires a licensed electrician. Proper installation ensures safety and compliance with marine electrical standards, minimizing risks of electrical faults or hazards.

The unit typically includes two main components:

• DIN rail mount transformer: This allows the transformer to be easily installed and secured within an electrical panel, ensuring reliable voltage monitoring.
• Shore Power sender unit: This device communicates with the alarm system, transmitting a signal whenever the shore power supply fails.

Together, these components provide continuous monitoring and peace of mind, helping boat owners maintain their electrical systems and avoid costly disruptions.
