Dometic Waeco CD-30 CoolMatic 30 Litre Compressor 12/24 Volt Drawer Fridge. This smart Drawer Fridge turns unused nooks and crannies into a practical cold store with a capacity of 30 litres. Even though space is limited in your holiday home, boat or truck, you will certainly find a suitable place for your new CD-30 drawer fridge. In some trucks and caravans, the practical compressor cooler can even be fitted from the outside.

Smoothly running on roller bearing slides, it perfectly matches the interior design of most vehicles with its black front panel. A single movement of your hand, and the drawer unlocks to deliver cool snacks and drinks in abundance.

Note that you can also run this fridge on 240 Volt power if you wish; the fridge comes with positive and negative cables which can be connected to an adaptor such as the Dometic Waeco MPS-50A Power Adaptor (see Accessory List above) -  This adaptor is popular for when 240 Volt AC mains power is available and you want to run 12 / 24 Volt DC appliances. Simply connect this adaptor between the mains power outlet and your DC appliance (in this case your Drawer Fridge) - this allows you to use mains power when its available instead of using your DC battery power.

Had previously had a CF18 now the CD30, both have same motor- fabulous, hush quiet under my bed!! Accurate thermostat knob, hung it with some brackets, solid door clip, takes small bottles of water/cans upright. Very happy and soooo quiet.

This fridge is amazing! I travel a lot between jobs and around the country and having this fridge connected in my car is perfect for me. It easily fits enough food for myself and an adventure buddy for a week, or a cheeky slab of cans if we prefer to stop at a festival for a boogie. The fridge cools down really quickly and my tip to anyone would be to stock the fridge before turning it on to optimise the cooling time.

Domatic 30ltr draw fridge Review by
Hi there just fitted the fridge in my 6mtr boat and was easy to fit and to wire it in. Went out with the boat on this passed weekend put in some food and drink and it Seem to work very well on about number 2 setting just wanted to keep them cool. I think it if I turn it up to max it would have come close to freeze everything. One thing it would have been nice if it had a light, so on that not very happy.

This product does everything is claims, power consumption after start up drops from 40W to around 25W after 10-20 seconds and settles into a 2 Amp draw, very efficient (still froze water on lowest setting). One concern is the rattling and bumping from the compressor unit & condenser on uneven roads, I have cabled tied as much as possible together to avoid rattles and fatigue damaging the unit. Time will tell…. Very light and easy to install, Digital thermostat & light would be a nice touch to an otherwise excellent product.

We are about to use this product for a 3 month holiday. It is ideal because it fits under our bed in a ute canopy next to our storage drawers. We have run the fridge and it is economical on power and seems efficient.

Have owned a 80 litre Waeco for approximately 6 years no problems, use as fridge / freezer or just a freezer or fridge depending on what we are doing. Living full time in our new van & love cooking & entertaining outside. Fitted our Waeco CoolMatic 30 litre Compressor Draw Fridge in the external tunnel boot. Now enjoy a chilled beer or wine at the right temperature right at our feet.

I purchased the Waeco drawer fridge as a 2nd fridge for when we go on long camping trips. I have a 40 litre Engel in my camper trailer but wanted an extra fridge that I could put on the tray of my ute and hide out of sight (i.e. under the Tonneau Cover). This fridge is perfect for that and is working well.

    Hi - the average rated consumption is approx. 40 watts. The official manufacturer's power consumption rating is: 

    1.4 Ah / h at +25 °C ambient temperature 1.7 Ah / h at +32 °C ambient temperature both at +4/5 °C interior temperature.

    Provided the fridge has suitable ventilation there shouldn't be an issue running in continuously.

    These fridges are generally hardwired to the vehicles 12V system.

    This could be via Anderson plug for example.

    Unfortunately the Dometic CD-30 does not have the temperature range to be set as a freezer.

    Currently we only have one drawer model that can function as a freezer, and that is the Evakool 40L DC40-DRW-S.

    Hi There,

    You would need to make sure the fridge is connected to a battery that was being charged by solar.

    The fridge will not operate on solar alone.

  • Hi there I wanting to know some information about the fridge I want to run two fridges but back to back. Meaning the the rear of each fridge are facing one another. Would this be an issue if both are running at the same time and being in close proximity

    Hi There

    The only issue that could present itself would be the build up of heat from the compressors.

    To avoid this you would need to make sure there is significant venting for the hot air away from the compressors.

    If too much heat is present the compressors will have to work a lot harder, and cooling efficiency will drop.

    Hi, if you have the space the yes you can. For the most energy efficent operation; choose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against direct sunlight. Thanks.

    This fridge is very popular in under bunk storage in campervans. It has a very small compressor that is mounted at the back of the fridge within the recess, it is very quiet.
