Customer Reviews

Perfect for the job, and affordable. Review by Ken Walker , Burleigh Heads QLD

Product Review

This Briggs model is an absolute ripper. $300 or so cheaper than the Yammy and more power? What's not to like about that.
It is portable, quiet, and runs my campers a/c no problems at all.

Ask a Question

  • Q:Hi, How much power will I get out of the Briggs and Stratton Parallel kit?

Thanks very much for the question.

The Briggs and Stratton Parallel kit can be used in the follwoing combinations:

    - Models: P2200 & P2200 Max Output: 3000 Watts

    - Models: P3000 & P3000 Max 4800 Watts

You can also pair a P3000 with a P2200 model; Briggs & Stratton advertise the max output from this connection as 3000 watts. However in terms of power output, the parallel kit doesn't have the ability to sense what unit is hooked up and how much load is being drawn from each unit. So we cannot evenly balance the load between the two generators when they are connected in parallel. Therefore, Briggs & Stratton choose to reduce the advertised power on parallel kit to reflect a value that we can guarantee and stand behind.

    Thank you.

  • Q:My product manual for my inverter generator mentions an 'earthing wire / earthing stake' - do I need this?

Hi there, good question. This is mentioned in generator manuals and is a safety feature that will earth the generator. You do have the option to fit an 'earth wire'. Connecting an earth wire and stake is an option available to customer's that purchase a generator.

An earth wire and stake is not supplied with generators that we sell and is application specific. In practice, we do not see customer's do this, especially for inverter generators. It can be something that is implemented for more specialized generators on mining work sites for example...for common applications, it is not common practice to 'earth' the generator with a wire and stake. If you are in doubt, and you have a specialized generator requirement that may need 'earthing', please consult an electrician. Hope that helps.
