I am looking to get a 8kva silenced/Blimped generator for a work shop setup. Suggestions please.

My Generator Response
Hi Carl, our most popular portable 8kVA generators for work shop use are Honda Petrol Powered Models from Australian manufacturers such as Powerlite, Gentech and Genelite. These are tough, robust machines that are built to last, however they are not 'silenced' and have a noise rating of around 74 decibels at 7 metres. A silenced portable generator in that size will cost a bit more. The Yamaha EF6300iSE Inverter Generator produces max power of 6.3kVA (so may or may not be quite large enough for your requirements), is fully encased with sound proofing material and has a noise rating of 58 decibels at 7 metres - this is very quiet, and therefore this model is very popular for residential use and for food markets, events etc. Another option is a water cooled diesel stationary generator such as the Kubota 8.8kVA Lowboy - these units are also designed for quiet operation and come with long range fuel tanks for prolonged operation. This type of unit is not only popular for larger work shop use but also solar backup, rural property backup power, construction sites, satellite offices, road works, small events and for large vehicles. Feel free to give our team a call on 1300 400 122 if you would like to discuss further. Thanks.

You left out the best one on the market, the Kubota GL9000. Competitively priced, ultra reliable and backed up by Kubota dealers Australia wide. Cheers Ben

My Generator Response
Thank you Ben - yes we have to agree, the Kubota Low Boy II does have impressive fuel economy. Technically its a 9kVA unit, but perhaps we'll add it to the list! Cheers, Steve
