  1. I have a rooftop air conditioner an Ibis MK2, what size inverter generator would you suggest?
What modifications are required to the caravan as I believe the RCD will not work using a generator

    1. Hi Mick,

Thanks for your question. We would generally recommend an inverter generator with a minimum of 2400W such as the Cromtech 2400w Inverter Generator or the Yamaha 2400w Inverter Generator. However, as your air conditioner is an older model we would strongly recommend going up to a 2800W inverter generator such as the Yamaha 2800w Inverter Generator.

Regarding your second enquiry, it would be best to consult your electrician to confirm about the RCD, but most of the inverter models we sell are not fitted with RCD so should not be an issue.

Please feel free to give one of our product experts a call on 1300 400 122 if you have any further questions 🙂

  2. Hello

I have a walk in mobile coffee van to fit out. I’ve calculated approx 5500W need with the appliances I’ll be running. The coffee machine alone is 2600W. What do you recommend for a generator and where can it be housed within the confines of the van to meet regs.

    Thanks

    1. Hi Matthew,

The two largest generators we sell for mobile food vans are the:

Briggs & Stratton 6500w Inverter Generator

      Yamaha 6300w Inverter Generator

Providing the continuous and peak power draw do not exceed the specifications listed on the products above these would be suitable.

In terms of installing the generator in a confined space, this would be something we rarely recommend without consultation from an engineer.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
